School Registration for 2020-2021
Dr. Lila Fahlman School serves the attendance area of Allard and Callaghan neighbourhoods only.
On February 3, 2020, we will begin accepting 2020-2021 registration forms for students new to Edmonton Public Schools, including those children entering Kindergarten. Completed registration packages must include confirmation of address (a minimum of two of the following documents: utility bill, lease agreement, property tax bill, driver's license, purchase agreement). Registration forms can be dropped off at Dr. Lila Fahlman School between the hours of 9:00 to 3:00 on regular school operational days.
Children who will be five years of age by December 31, 2020, are eligible to register in Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. Please drop off your registration at Dr. Lila Fahlman School starting February 3, 2020 and by April 15, 2020. We will require two pieces of proof of residency (lease agreement, tax bill, purchase agreement, bank statement, driver’s license, etc) and birth certificate.
Lottery Process at Dr. Lila Fahlman School
Our school will be implementing a lottery process for new students enrolling at our school for the 2020-21 school year. This will only impact new students wishing to enrol at the school and will not impact students currently attending our school.
Each grade will have a cap for the number of classes for all grade levels. If the number of new students who want to enrol exceeds available spaces, a lottery process will be used.
Students who aren’t able to attend our school will be able to attend an overflow designated school, Donald R Getty School, a school of choice with space in planned classes or remain at their current school.
Siblings of current students attending our school
As long as both siblings will be attending the lottery school for 2020-2021 and both have registered and/or pre-enrolled by April 15:
the new sibling registering in Kindergarten will be guaranteed a space.
the new sibling pre-enrolling in Grades 1-9 will be given priority but is not guaranteed to attend if there is not enough space at their grade level. If this occurs, siblings who are new to the school will take part in the lottery process if they wish to attend. The school will not accept registrations from new families moving into the attendance area if the student is not considered a resident of Edmonton Public Schools. Students are considered a ‘resident student’ if at least one parent or guardian lives in Edmonton and at least one parent is not Roman Catholic. New non-resident students in the school’s attendance area can attend a school in their current school division or another Edmonton Public school that has space.
More information about the lottery process is available on the Edmonton Public Schools website. If you have any other questions, please contact our school office at 587-489-4710
