    New Student Registration

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

    Current Division Student Pre-Enrolment

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens at 9am on March 8th and ends at 4pm on April 14th.

If you have questions about registering for school, contact the school office at 587-489-4710.

Dr. Lila Fahlman Registration for 2022-23

Dr. Lila Fahlman School serves the attendance area of Allard and Callaghan neighbourhoods only.

To help address enrolment growth and space shortages, our school will continue to have a lottery process for new resident* students enrolling for the 2022-23 school year. The lottery only impacts new resident* students within our attendance area wishing to attend the school. Students who are currently enrolled at our school are not impacted.

Each grade will have a limit for the number of classes for all grade levels. If the number of new students enrolling exceeds available space a lottery process will be used.

    Lottery Process Once Pre-Enrolment Closes

After pre-enrolment closes at 4pm on April 14, families of resident students will:

    • receive a call from the school about the lottery results by April 26;
    • be able to attend their overflow designated school or choose to enrol at another school with space. Siblings may also enrol at the overflow designated school; and
    • request to be placed on a callback list if spaces open before the last instructional day in September 2022. Students do not have to be enrolled in a Division school for the 2022-23 school year to stay on the callback list.

Registering at an Overflow Designated School or Other Division School

Our school will help resident* families who were not selected in the lottery process to register at our overflow designated school for the 2022-23 year, Garth Worthington School. (Donald R. Getty remains our overflow school for the 2021-22 school year.) If families choose to go to another Division school, they will need to call or email their preferred school to see if there is space.

    Registration After April 14

New resident* students to the Division who register for the 2022-23 school year after pre-enrolment closes on April 14 can be added to the bottom of the callback list. Students can attend their overflow designated school, another school with space, or remain at their current school, if applicable.

The school will not accept new registrations from families in the attendance area if the student is not a resident* of Edmonton Public Schools.

*A student is considered a resident of Edmonton Public Schools if they have at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic.

Siblings of Current Students Attending Our School

New resident students in the attendance area with a sibling returning to the school next year will get priority, but are not guaranteed to attend.

    Transportation to Overflow Designated Schools

Yellow bus service to Garth Worthington School will be available for eligible students. Bus fees will apply.

Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is the preferred transportation method for junior high and high school students; however, if if ETS does not meet Division standards, eligible students attending their overflow designated school may be able to apply for yellow bus service. Bus fees will apply.

Students who require yellow bus service must apply before June 1, 2022. Information for new and current riders and application forms can be found on the Applying for Yellow Bus Service page on epsb.ca.
